Johnny Rudy Valdez, 75 of Dalhart, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2021. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00am on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father Ron Matthews celebrating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 9:00am at the church on Tuesday before mass. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Johnny was born on November 16, 1946 to Joe and Facunda Valdez in Dalhart, TX. He graduated from Dalhart High School. He enjoyed being outdoors working in his yard, mowing lawns, or fishing. Johnny also liked listening to country music. He was one of the most giving people you would ever meet and like his brother Raymond, Johnny was an avid fan of Americas football team: the Dallas Cowboys. Johnny was a member of St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He was known by many and will be missed. He is preceded in death by his parents: Joe and Facunda Valdez; two brothers; Raymond and Victor Valdez; and numerous nieces. Johnny is survived by his siblings: Delia Mireles of Sunray, Cecilia Gomez of Dalhart, Joe Valdez of Dalhart, Benita Zapata(Raul), of Channing, Billy Valdez(Teresa) of Dalhart, Margaret Moreno(Xavier) of Dalhart, Christy Valdez of Dalhart, and Barbara Soto(Mauro).
