John L. Scroggins, 82, died Monday, February 8, 2016 in Claude, TX.Services will be held Friday February 12, 2016 at 2 pm at Liberty Baptist Church in Dalhart, TX. Officiating will be Royce A. Mason. John L Scroggins was born January 26, 1934 in Quanah, TX to Henry and Ettie V. Scroggins. He was raised in Vernon, TX where he met and married Belva Scroggins on May 9, 1952. He lived in Borger, Tx and worked for the housing authority until he retired to Dalhart, TX in 1999. He has 2 children Theresa Matthews and Randy Scroggins. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry Scroggins and Ettie V. Scroggins, his wife Belva Scroggins, two brothers Clyde and Earnest, three sisters Joyce, Unisfaye, and Vonnie and a great-great grandson.Survivors include children Theresa Matthews of Claude, Tx, Randy Scroggins of Amarillo , TX, 3 sisters Vivian of California, Edna of Dumas, Charlsetta of Oklahoma, 2 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and 7 great-grandchildren.
