John Jurajda, 72, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 in Dalhart, TXPrayer Vigil was held at 7:00 pm - Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, Dalhart, Texas Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 am - Thursday, March 24, 2011at St. Anthonys Catholic Church , Dalhart, Texas with Father Scott L. Raef, Pastor officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Horizon FuneralHome, Dalhart, Texas. John Lawrence Jurajda was born November 6, 1937 in La Grange, TX to John B. and Clara (Martinek) Jurajda. John was raised in Ft. Worth, TX and graduated form Laneri High School in 1956. He then attended St. Marys University in San Antonio where he graduated with a BA in Physics. Mr. Jurajda joined the US Army in 1960 and was honorably discharged as a Reserved Commissioned Officer in April 1969. On September 16, 1961 he married Diana Dubiel in Clayton, NM. They moved to Dalhart from Clayton, NM in 1967. In 1971 he started Diamond J Electric and Electronics with his brother, Gene. In the late 70s he moved the business to Maple Square and was known as Diamond J True Value. John & Diana have been members of St. Anthonys Catholic Church for 44 years.Survivors include his wife Diana of Dalhart, TX sons Larry Jurajda and his wife Krista of Dalhart, TX, Jimmy Jurajda and his wife Lee of Amarillo, TX and Jeff Jurajda and his wife Heather of Dalhart, TX. Daughters: Jennifer Nolan and her husband Dodd of Amarillo, TX, Joyce Greenstreet and her husband Rodney of Leander, TX, Judy Schroder and her husband David of Dalhart, TX and a brother Gene Jurajda and his wife Elsie of Dalhart, TX. 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild Preceded in death by his parentsMemorials to S.A.I.N.T.S.
