John Martin Ewing died on Friday, June 6, 2008 in Amarillo, TexasMemorial Services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June14, 2008 in Memorial Park Cemetery with Barry Walker, Minister First Christian Church Officiating.John Martin Ewing was born October 24, 1945 in Unionville, Missouri to James M. and Jo Maxine (McKinley) Ewing. John graduated from Unionville High School in 1963 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge he moved to Dalhart and was a police officer until 1968. On January 21, 1967 he married Barbara Jo Like. They moved to Arlington, TX and he began working in the restaurant business. He retired in 2001 from Host Marriott after managing restaurants at Dallas Love Field, Houston Intercontinental and Memphis International airports for 30years. They returned to Dalhart and he sold cars for Phil Like motor and Hart Motor. John was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Dalhart and Texline, Scottish Rite in Ft. Worth and Alchymia Shrine in Memphis, TN and a member of the Dalhart rotary club. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Dalhart Son Scott Ewing and his wife Heather of Grand Prairie, TX Granddaughter Phoebe Ewing of Grand Prairie, TX Brother James Ewing of Longview, WA and Brother-in-law Butch Like of Dalhart, TX - Preceded inn death by his parents;
