Joe Harold Thompson, 87,died on Monday, December 22, 2014 in Amarillo, TexasGraveside Services were held at 11:00 am Friday, December 26, 2014 at Memorial Park Cemetery Dalhart, Texasthe Memorial Service followed at 1:00 pm Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Dalhart Sr. Citizens Chapel, 610 Denrock Ave.Joe Harold Thompson was born to Floyd and Hilda Thompson in La Prayor, Texas in 1927. Joe served in World War II and married Ann Hartshorn in 1950 in Dallas, Texas. He was engaged in farming all of his adult life. He was an active member of Texline United Methodist Church, served as a member of the Texline school board, and was active in the Coldwater community. He was preceded in death by Ann in 2001 after fifty years of marriage. In the years after Anns death, he enjoyed traveling and the companionship of Goldie Cummings. He was also preceded in death by one sister Lorene Berkman. Survivors include three daughters and one son, Becky Hill and husband Bill, Terri Teig and husband John, Rusty Thompson, and Juliann Fulton and husband Larry. He is also survived by grandchildren Matt Hill and wife Jessica, Karli Jo Hill, Todd Teig, and Trisha Teig in addition to two great grandchildren Ethan and Mila Hill. Other survivors included many beloved nieces and nephews.Special thanks to the CLC staff for taking such loving care of Joe.
