Joseph F. McCleskey, 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Dalhart, Texas. Graveside Services were held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery officiated by Rev. Jon Farris, Pastor of Lakeview United Methodist Church, Dalhart, TX . Under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home in Dalhart, Texas. Joseph (Joe) Frances McCleskey was born in Hartley County on May 9, 1932 to J. Francis & Marjorie (Scofield) McCleskey Joe proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956 on the US Iowa during the Korean War. On May 18, 1958, Joe married Mary J. Hurtt in Dalhart, TX. Joe and Mary were long time member of the Lakeview United Methodist Church in Dalhart. Joe was the former owner of Dalhart Concrete Plant, Co-Owner of Builders Supply Company and a former member of the Dalhart Rotary Club. Joe is survived by his wife, Mary McCleskey, a sister in-law Martha Coble, nephews- Bill Coble and Troy Crawford, nieces- Lauraie Moore, Marti Kirk and Cindy Lloyd also several great nieces and nephews. Cousin Carl Scofield and special friend Bobby Gordon. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and 2 sisters.
