Joe Kuster, 75, died Saturday, June 15, 2013 in Vale de Oro, TXMemorial services were held Wednesday, June 19th, at 10 am in Dalhart at the Spiritual Life Center with Leon Laney and Gene Goodwin officiating- Joe Kuster was born on February 21, 1938 in San Antonio. He moved with his family and grew up on the family farm in Amarillo and attended Price Memorial College then returned to San Antonio to attend St. Marys University. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He lived most of his life in Dalhart, Texas where he was an electrician by trade but dealt mostly in real estate management and acquisition. He married Cammy Day on May 5, 2009 and they resided in Valle de Oro. He founded, and dedicated his life to, the Top of Texas Charity with the purpose of assisting single women with children and feeding hungry children. He was a big man with a big heart. He is preceded in death by his parents Anton and Amy Hyland Kuster. He is survived by his wife Cammy Day and her children, Tommy and Diana Shawn of Dalhart, Martha Lucero of Dalhart, Lisa and Craig Massey of Clayton, NM; his children, Mark and Cherine Kuster of Amarillo, Cindy and Rusty Pierce of Childress, Texas, Shannon Kuster of Amarillo, Damian and Peggy Kuster of Amarillo and Toni and Michael Smith of Hartley, Texas, along with 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and two brothers Tony and Geri Kuster of Amarillo and Kevin and Chris Kuster of Flowermound, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Top of Texas Charity at PO Box 3006, Valle de Oro, TX 79010.
