Betty "JoAnn" Bell, 83, went home to our Lord on Friday, July 28, 2017, in Dalhart, TX. A celebration of life was held at the First Christian Church in Dalhart on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. The family invited everyone to join us to celebrate the lives of both Bill and JoAnn Bell.
The family extends their gratitude to the Staff & Family of Legacy Assisted Living and Coon Memorial Nursing Home for their loving care and support.
JoAnn was born July 20, 1934 in Dalhart, TX to Bill & Mildred McEvers. She married Bill Bell in 1951. JoAnn lived with her husband and raised their four children on the Perkins & Prothro Ranch near Kerrick, TX. She spent her time on her passions; those of art and her children and grandchildren. In 1996 they retired to their home at Lake Meredith where she could typically be found in her art studio or enjoying nature in the orchard. In 2002 Bill & JoAnn relocated to Dalhart to be closer to family. JoAnn was a loving and giving wife, mother of four, and Meme to fourteen grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was a beautifully eccentric person inside & out. She was always full of joy and love for everyone she met with a beautiful smile and ornery twinkle. She fills our hearts, is deeply loved, and will be profoundly missed.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband Bill Bell, her parents Bill & Mildred McEvers, and her brother Larry McEvers. She leaves a legacy of four children, Beaver & DeeDee Bell, Dalhart, TX; Vickie & Steve Raney, Dalhart, TX; Jack & Conda Bell, Dumas, TX; and Mitch & Nena Bell, Fulton Ranch. Fourteen grandchildren, Chris & Hope Bell, Tanner & Audra Bell, Chiz & Misti Bell, Shawna & Wesley Bucher, Robynne & Russell Harrell, Josh & Crystal Raney, Jami & Kurt Pafford, Amy Bell & Scotti Whitmire, Julie & Chad Bulls, Dusty Bell, Jade & Nick Holder, Sam & Katelyn Bell, Monty & Taylor Bell, and Rowdy Bell. Twenty amazing great-grandchildren and a brother Duane & Judy McEvers, Amarillo, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of memoriam be made to Meals on Wheels, Coon Memorial Nursing Home, or the First Christian Church Youth.
