Jimmy Poe, 60 died Sunday, January 16, 2005 in Dalhart, Texas - Graveside Services were held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 in Memorial Park Cemetery.Officiant was Rusty Hancock, Pastor of the Lincoln Street Baptist Church of Dalhart, Texas.Jimmy Poe was born February 2, 1944 to Rollin Davis and May (White) Poe in Dalhart. Texas. He was the eldest of four brothers. Jimmy worked through the late 50s and early 60s for a number of businesses including Chambers Cadillac, Eldon Doyle, Clyde Ames, & Art Strong (Dalhart United Supply). During the 70s, Jimmy went into the Irrigation & Automotive repair business with his two brothers Tony & Bruce. In the mid 80s Jimmy became self-employed, repairing and painting cars and trucks. Jimmy remained self-employed (semi-retired) up until the time of his death repairing, fixing and building many things. He never let life get him down and dealt with things without worry. Jimmy had a love for life and family, and working with his hands along with a dedication to the mechanical repairing of cars and trucks. Jimmy was also skilled in construction and welding fabrication.Survivors include his brother Tony Poe of Dalhart,Texas, a Nephew - Michael R. Poe of Dalhart, Texas a sister in law - Janice Poe of Dalhart, Texas - an Aunt and 2 Uncles. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers: Ronald & Bruce Poe.
