Jimmy McCartney, 66, passed away on October 23, 2016 peacefully at his home in Dalhart, Texas. Graveside Services were held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery officiated by Monsignor Michael Colwell, Pastor of St. Anthonys of Padua Catholic Church. Under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home in Dalhart, Texas. Jimmy Don McCartney was born on September 19, 1950 to Cecil A. & Marion (Houston) McCartney in Dalhart, TX. Jimmy had 5 sisters and 1 brother growing up in Dalhart. Jimmy graduated from Dalhart High School and later spent time in the Army Reserves. Jimmy loved working on the farm and driving trucks. Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Gergen and her husband, Grant of Dalhart, Texas, Grandson Chance Wilson and his wife, Samantha of Dalhart and one Great Grandson Onyx Wilson of Dalhart, Texas. Also 4 sisters- Cathy Simi of Sierra Vista, AZ, Carol Speer and her husband, Jim of Renton, WA, Jean Clements of Ladylike, FL and Betty Davis of San Angelo, TX. As well as 11 nieces & nephews, several great nieces & nephews and numerous cousins. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil & Marion McCartney, his brother Cecil McCartney, Jr. and a sister, Shirley Martin and his grandparents.In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the S.A.I.N.T.S Fund at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
