Jim Scott JUNGLE JIM, 80, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Dalhart, Texas A Memorial Service was held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in the XIT Museum Chapel. James Michael Scott was born July 16, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Edna (Doud) Scott. Jim served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1960. "Jungle Jim" was a writer and artist. He was a member of the Dalhart Area Fine Arts Association. His local accomplishments were recently highlighted in July of 2014 when he attended a book signing of his book The Target. Jim donated half the proceeds to the Dalhart Area Fine Arts Association. Jungle Jims most recently self-published books are Legacy of the Southwest;Windmill Tilting; Clichs To The Max, the #1 Coffeetable Book; And the amusing and delightful two-act melodrama Ted Trueheart To The Rescue.
