Jim (Gambler) Benson, age 67, died Monday June 15, 2015 in Dalhart, TX.A memorial service were held at the Newlife Church on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Jim Benson was born in Boulder, CO in 1948 to Ernest and Patricia (Oldaker) Benson. He graduated from high school in Boulder, CO and later farmed, built houses, and drove 18 wheelers. He loved nascar, greyhound racing, fried gizzards, but most of all he loved taking his children and grandchildren out for fun. He was married once with one child and was a simple man. He never wanted anything too fancy, and helped anyone he could when he could.He is survived by his son and his wife, Levi and Michi Benson of Dalhart, two sisters, Janet Waremburg of Ft. Lupton, CO, Nancy Skinner of Bertha, CO, and five grandchildren.He is preceded by his parents and a brother.
