Jessie Thompson age 94 died on Thursday, February 17, 2005 in Dalhart, TexasServices were held at 2:00 p.m.. Friday, February 18, 2005 at the Lincoln Street Baptist Church in Dalhart, TXBurial will be in Mena, Arkansas at a later date under the direction of Horizon Funeral HomeOfficiating will be Rusty Hancock, Pastor Lincoln Street Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas and Bob McAlister, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Channing, TXJessie May Ringo was born on November 5, 1910 to George Slack and Sophia May (Williams) Ringo in Dalhart, Texas. She had all or her schooling in the Dalhart area. She and Marion Thompson were married on December 23, 1930. They lived in this area for many years before moving to Arkansas, where they lived for twenty-five years. Following the death of her husband, Jessie moved back to Dalhart in 1990, to be near her family and many friends. She was a long time member of Lincoln Street Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Training Union classes. Counting her years of serving her Lord in Arkansas, she taught continually for forty five years. She was always interested in the youth in her community. She loved her Lord, her family, and valued her friends as gifts from God.Jessie is survived by a daughter: Helen Cox of Carrollton, TX, Five Grandchildren , Kim Brenham, Phoenix, AZ, Toni Hopson, Amarillo, TX, Tammy Helmuth, Stratford, TX., Ginger Freeman, Guymon, OK, and Mike Wilcoxson, San Antonio, TX, and Eleven Great-Grandchildren many nieces and nephews, including Elvin and Charles Ringo, R.B. Reynolds, Betty Parr, Kakie Cadenhead and Jim Reynolds, all of DalhartMemorials can be made to Lincoln Street Baptist Church or your Favorite Charity
