Jesse Dean Melius, 74, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in Amarillo, TX.Jesse Dean Melius was born February 18, 1935 in Amarillo, TX to James M. and Clara Mae (Stinson) Melius. Jesse grew up in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1953. He then joined the US Navy SEA BEES. After his honorable discharge he worked as an industrial welder for the Texas DOT and later was a pipe fitter on off shore oil rigs. He moved back to Dalhart in 2002. Mr. Melius enjoyed fishing and dancing. Survivors include his son: Kevin Melius and his wife Tina of Alma, AR and their two children - Chantel and Nicholas.His daughter: Melissa Brooks and her husband David of Nashville, TN and their son: DallasMother: Clara Mae Melius of Dalhart, TX Brothers: James and his wife Aliene Melius of Dalhart, TX, Kenneth and his wife Sue Melius of Magnola, TX and Roy and his wife Rhonda of Warren, TXPreceded in death by his father Jim, a daugher Christy Benevides Houston and a sister Elizabeth LaVerne Moore.
