Jerry L. Stone, 82, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in Dalhart, Texas. Funeral Services were held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Dalhart, Texas. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Texas. Jerry Lee Stone was born March 18, 1937 in Dalhart, Texas to Joel and Fay (Rogers) Stone. Jerry grew up and graduated high school in Dalhart, Texas. After high school Jerry served his country in the United States Army, the Army Reserves and in the Texas Guard. Mr. Stone went to work for the railroad after the military and retired after 42 years. Jerry married Theresa Stone July 8, 1996. Jerry was a member of the Dalhart Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, as well as, a long time participant in many La Rita Theater performances. Survivors include his wife Theresa of Dalhart, TX sons Joel Stone and wife Brenda of Amarillo, TX, James Stone and wife Tammy of Lubbock, TX, Douglas Dunn of Mt. Orab, OH, Devin Jones of San Antonio, TX and Darin Jones of Dalhart, TX; daughters Deborah Breitling of Bryan, TX and Dianne Dunn of Dalhart, TX, 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, a sister, Lanita Ames of Dalhart, TX and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Michael and Brian and his first wife Marcella.
