Irene lived most of her adult life in Dalhart, where she raised her very large family and built a life centered on faith, love, and service. She was a long-time member of Dalhart First Baptist Church and cherished her years singing in the church choir. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she loved her family and Jesus deeply. Irene married Wes in July of 2010, and they had 16 good years together, not perfect, but really good.

Irene was always ready to go and loved to travel. She especially enjoyed traveling with her husband, Wes, to Branson and the Air Races. Along with her love of travel, she also loved gardening. She gave generously of herself to others and volunteered as a Pink Lady at the nursing home for many years, as well as sharing her home and heart as a foster parent touching many lives through her kindness and care.

She is survived by her husband, Wesley Martin, her children: Danny Renshaw (Patti) of Roswell, NM, Joseph Kelley of The Colony, TX, Keenan Renshaw of Amarillo, TX, Dwight Renshaw (Debbie) of Dalhart, TX, Greg Renshaw of Clinton, IA, Kevin Martin (Melissa) of Dalhart, TX, Tammy Holeman (Troy) of Amarillo, TX, and RaQuel Watson (Beth) of Canyon, TX, and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family was a great joy in her life, and she will be remembered with love by all who shared in her family circle.

Irene was preceded in death by her father, Charles Barber, and her mother, Evelyn Barber, four brothers and daughter in law Paula Kelley.

Janice Irene Martin will be remembered as a woman of faith, warmth, and energy, whose love for her family, her church, and the simple pleasures of life left a lasting mark on those who knew her.
