James Sidney Watkins was born on September 8, 1942 to Sidney and Thelma (Brown) Watkins. He died on August 3, 2022, at his home in Dalhart. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 27 years, Iris Watkins, two brothers, Leroy Estes and Jay Watkins and one sister, Virginia Schauer. He is survived by two sons, Jeremy and his wife, Mandi, of Mansfield, and their children, Reece, Joston & Harlow; Sidney and his wife, Casey, of Borger, and their children, Ally (and her son, Axl), Annie, Addison, and Barrett; two brothers, John Watkins of Dalhart, and Jack Watkins and his wife Laura, of Lubbock; and two sisters, Wanda Armstrong of Talihina, Oklahoma and Dirindia Kelley and her husband, Ron, of Abilene, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and two very special friends, Pete and Susie Rempel.Jim graduated from Dalhart High School and studied chemistry at Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma. He worked in the family business for many years and also at TDC in Dalhart before retiring. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and creating various pieces from scraps of lumber and metal. He was a kind, quiet, and gentle man of faith, who was always available to help someone in need. Pending Service
