James Henry Tate, 71, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 in Dalhart, Texas. Memorial Services will be scheduled at a later date. Jim grew up in Decatur Texas and graduated from high school there. He went into the United States Army and served three years in Germany during the Vietnam war. He then graduated from University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in Accounting and went straight to work at Arthur Young (now Ernst and Young) and later became a partner. Jim was hired to become CFO at Thermadyne Industries and moved with his family to St. Louis, Missouri for 25 years. Upon retirement he served on the Board of Directors for Joy Global Inc. for 10 years. Jim loved watching Cowboy and Texas football with his family. He loved playing poker and golf. He also enjoyed cooking and was an amazing "Chef". He was so loved by everyone he never met a stranger and always made us laugh. He will be terribly missed by all. Jim is survived by: Wife, Andrea (Andie) Tate of Dalhart, Texas, a daughter, Amanda Legan and husband Tommy of Santa Cruz, California, a son, Frankie Tate of Denver, Colorado and three grandsons, Jackson, Ethan and Grayson Tate of Denver, Colorado.
