James V. Ford, 82, died Friday, July 7, 2017 in Dalhart, TX. Funeral Services were held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in the First Baptist Church - Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas. under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX James Vernon Ford was born June 4, 1935 in Claude, TX to Alfred and Lucille (Spangler) Ford. James was a 1953 graduate of Hartley High School, he was a farmer and respected businessman who owned Hartley County Equipment from 1967 to 1977 and Dalhart Bearing & Machine from 1979 to 2016. Mr. Ford married Helen Powell on February 4, 1978, he and Helen were members of the First Baptist Church. James was an avid pilot who loved going to air shows and participating in model airplane clubs. He loved his family and watching his grandkids grow up! James is survived by his wife Helen of Dalhart, TX, daughters: Lawana Ford Page and her husband Jim, Amber Dawn Ford, Robbie Britz, Penny Pearson and her husband Thomas and his son, Mike Ford and his wife Debra. 8 grandchildren : Martha Ford Johnson and husband Mike, Steve Ford and wife Brandi, Michelle Ford Glaze and husband Kenneth, Nicolas Pearson and wife Bryt, Justin Pearson, Austyn Hart, Ryan Richmeier, Sebastian Gonzales and 8 Great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law: Jake Britz, his brothers: Darrell, Merl, Berl, and Alfred.
