Jackie Coke, 99, died on Friday, July 24, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas.
Graveside services were held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 27, 2020 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, TX with Kurtis Abla officiating. Horizon Funeral Home has the honor of assisting with this service.
Jack Nell Graves was born Tuesday, May 24, 1921 in Greenville, Texas to Monchier and Trinket (Sheppard) Graves. On October 1, 1943 she married Loyd E. "Shorty" Coke in Victoria, TX.
Shorty and Jackie lived in Plains Texas until 1976 when they moved to Seminole, TX. While in Seminole she was employed at the hospital as a receptionist. In 1990 they moved to Dalhart, Texas. An excellent seamstress, Jackie made clothes for all the grand kids. Jackie was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Coon Memorial Auxiliary, Rehm Home Demonstration Club, and the 55+ Club. In 2017, due to her failing health, she moved to Amarillo Center for Skilled Nursing.
Jackie is survived by her son, Corky and his wife Toni Coke of Dalhart, TX, a Daughter, Chick Steed of Childress, TX, granddaughter Marita Hochstein and her husband Randy of Canyon, TX, grandson Jason and his wife Amanda Coke of Dalhart, TX, granddaughter Katy Hawkins and her husband David of Dalhart, TX, niece Evelyn Ann Slough and her husband Ronnie of Duncanville, TX. Great Grandchildren: Cassidie Coke, Landon Coke, Brynn Hochstein, Bristol Hochstein, Tripp Hawkins, Caylor Hawkins and Payton Riddle. Numerous nieces and nephews in the Coke clan and 2 sisters in law: Jimmie Woodruff and LaVonne Coke and a great-great grandchild Presley due in September.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
