Jack Johnson, 89, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Dalhart, TexasServices will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the First Baptist Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home.Jack Johnson was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on October 27, 1920 to Isaac N. Sr. and Isabel (Aycock) Johnson. Raised in Shawnee and Dalhart he graduated from high school in Shawnee in 1939 and then joined the US Navy. Jack was a radio-man at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 (Pearl Harbor Day). After WWII he returned to Dalhart. Jack owned and operated insurance agencies in Dalhart for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Johnson served on the XIT Rodeo and Reunion Board, and was a member of the XIT Rangers, Dalhart Lions Club and many other organizations in the Dalhart Area. He is survived his lifelong friend Betty Steele, and a Cousin June Malcolm of Maud, OKPreceded in death by his parents and 1 sister Doris Johnson Cantwell.
