Jack Robert Conrad, 89, died Sunday, August 13, 2017 in Amarillo, TX.Graveside services were held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Justin Gibson of St. James Episcopal Church, Dalhart, TX. Arrangements provided by Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX. Jack Conrad was born on August 31, 1927 in Cripple Creek, Co to Richard & Hazel (Fawcett) Conrad. Jack was in the United States Army 1945-1947 and worked on ranches before coming to Texas in 1963. He ran pasture cattle for years and owned Rita Blanca Cattle Company and drove his own cattle truck. Jack served on the XIT Board of Directors1972-1974 and was president in 1974. He also was Parade Marshall in the early 2000s. Jack also worked with rodeos for years and loved to be outside with his cattle & horses. Jack was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger.Jack is survived by his loving wife, Doris Conrad of Dalhart, 2 sons- Mark Willis and his wife, Barb of Happy Valley, OR, Mike Willis of Dalhart, TX, 3 granddaughters Misty Hay and her husband, Lenny of Farson, WY, Rebecca Maloney & her husband, Jack of Lubbock, TX & Mandy Martin & her husband, Tyler of Sumrall, MS as well as 2 nephews- Kent Conrad of Colorado Springs, CO & Kipp Conrad of Canyon City, CO and 10 great grandchildren.Jack is preceded by both his parents, a brother- Richard, a son- Jackie Bob Conrad and a daughter- Charlotte McCarthy.
