Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.Jim Stevens, President of Texico Conference of Seventh day Adventist Church Albuquerque, NM officiated.Ivan Donald Alver was born on September 18, 1937 in Spring Valley, MN to Ingvald & Bergitta (Iverson) Alver Raised in Minnesota Ivan graduated form Grand Meadow High School, Grand Meadow, MN and attended Union College and the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Ivan married Kathie Heidtke in August 1965 and farmed in the Claremont, MN before moving with their family and Ivans parents to Dalhart in 1977.In 2002 Ivan received the Lily for Life 50 Year Insulin Award, an award to recognize people with diabetes who have been on insulin for at least 50 years.Survivors include his wife Katherine Alver of Dalhart, Texas 3 sons: Sheldon and his wife Michelle Alver of soda Springs, Idaho Brian and his wife Tracy Alver of Dalhart, Texas and Justin and his wife Amy Alver of Farmington, Minnesota. Mother: Connie Alver of Dalhart, Texas.
