Inalue McDaniel James, 96, died on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Logan, NM. Funeral service were held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Dalhart, Texas. Burial did follow at 1:30 pm at the Stratford Cemetery, Stratford, Texas. Arrangements entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home in Dalhart, Texas. Inalue McDaniel James was born January 29, 1921, near Felt, OK. She and her twin, Inysue,were daughters of Flora (Leake) and Orval H. McDaniel. They were known as Ina and Inez.They had 2 older sisters and an older brother, and 2 younger brothers. They had a good lifegrowing up on a farm even though it was during the depression. Their dad farmed and raisedsome cattle, and their mother had a big garden and raised chickens. They sold milk and eggsand chickens for their grocery money. When there was some left over each child got a nickel ora dime and usually bought a big sack of candy with it.Inalue and Inysue graduated from Felt High School in 1939. Inalue wanted to be a beautician,so after a year of college she changed to beauty school. The next year Inysue also went tobeauty school. Together they established the Twinette Beauty Shop in Boise City, OK. Theysold the shop after they were both married.When Newton S. James returned from World War II, he and Inalue were married at Clayton, NMon August 15, 1945. After Newton was discharged from the service, they moved to Lake City,CO where they were in partnership in the Elkhorn Hotel and the Town Square Cabins.In 1947, Inalue was pregnant. She was very large but still made her trips up and down thestairs and doing the work she needed to do. On a visit home, Inalue gave birth to twins - LoisFern who died a day later, and Louis Frank who clung to life.Newtons heart was in agriculture, so the next fall they moved back to the panhandle areawhere he partnered with his mother on a farm/ranch near Kerrick, TX. While there Daniel Leewas born, and died. The family was completed when Mary Catherine was born.Whatever Newtons endeavors were, Inalue was right there to help him. She was a homemakerwho saw to it that her family was well fed and well dressed. She loved to sew and made mostof her own and her childrens clothing, as well as quilts and other items for their home. She alsoknitted or crocheted or did other handwork "while she rested". She loved to learn differentcrafts, so she learned to tole paint and china paint, and many other craftsshe was verycreative. Inalue taught Sunday School for many years. She encouraged her classmates toenjoy and care for each other as well as learn the Bible and apply it.In 1977, Inalue and Newton moved to "the heart of cattle country" between Logan and NaraVisa, NM. Their children were close by and they loved to have the grandchildren come visit orgo to their activities. They faithfully attended the Logan Baptist Church.Newton died in 1991 from complications from Parkinson's Disease, and Inalue continued to liveat their country home until she decided to move to The Legacy in Dalhart. She lived there 5years, then moved to Autumn Blessings in 2014 to be closer to her children.Inalue was preceded in death by her husband - Newton; and children - Lois Fern and DanielLee; her parents; sisters - Fern Allen, Beth McDaniel and Inysue Dye; brothers - Earl, Loren & Gail.She is survived by two children - Louis Frank James & wife Elaine, Mary Catherine Judd & husband Delton;7 Grandchildren - Curtis James, Jennie Hodgen & husband Paul, Cody James & Don James;Lee Judd & wife Traci, James Judd & wife Jill, & Mettie Taylor & husband Sean; and 18 greatgrandchildren.In Lieu of flowers please donate-To the Church of your choiceorCal Farley Boy's Ranch
