Ima L. McAdams, 94, died on Thursday, May 22, 2008 in Dalhart, TXServices were held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 26, 2008 at Lakeview United Methodist Church, Dalhart, TX. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart arrangements under the care of Horizon Funeral Home.Officiating was George Chambers, Pastor of Lakeview United Methodist Church and Rusty Hancock, Pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church.Ima L. Dodd was born June 19, 1913 in Decatur, TX to Asher and Vina (Goble) Dodd. Ima grew up in Grandview, TX and on February 27, 1928 she married J Y McAdams, They moved to the Dalhart area in 1962. Even after Mr. McAdams died in 1974 Ima continued to Ranch and farm.Ima enjoyed sports and grew up playing basketball on a dirt court. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports. Imas favorite team Dallas Mavericks her hobbies included playing 42 and doing for her family.Always productive, she sold real estate, did income taxes, enjoyed driving a tractor or grain truck and watching her livestock.Ima is survived by her son: J.T. McAdams and his wife Annie of Clayton, NM daughters: Margaret Ward of Milford, TX Barbara Billups and her husband Joe of Dalhart, TX grandsons: Jimmy McAdams and his wife Raye of Dalhart, TX James Brown and his wife Bonnie of Dalhart, TX , David Brown and his wife Janice of Stratford, TX, Danny Ward of Tucson, AZ, Mike Ward and his wife Nita of Houston, TX Philip Ward and his wife Carolyn of Trophy Club, TX John Ward and his wife Evan of Waxahachie, TX Mark Brewer and his wife Jan of Cedar Rapids, IA and Jay Brewer of Dallas, TX - Granddaughters: Carol White of Amarillo, TX DLynn Reed and her husband Ricky of Stratford, TX Cherie Williams and her husband Gregg of Canyon, TX Carla Gaughn of Dallas, TX and Julie Schlesener and her husband Tim of Herlington, TX 26 great-grandchildren and 9 Great-great-grandchildren.Ima is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter: Corethia Brown, Sons-in-Law: M H Brown, Bill Ward and Tommy Brewer brothers: Buster and Bill Dodd and sisters: Ruby Rice, Goldie Miller, Juanita McAdams and Ruth DunlapMemorials may be made to - Meals on Wheels P.O.
