Ida Ramirez, 82, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 12, 2012.Prayer Vigil, celebrating Idas life was held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, Dalhart, Texas Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, February 16, 2012 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, Dalhart, Texas with Father Scott L. Raef, Pastor officiated.Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Ida was born on August 16, 1929 in Des Moines, NM to Agapito and Orphelia (Weaver) Valdez. She moved to Dalhart, TX when she was a young teenager. On September 14, 1950 she married the love of her life Philip Ramirez and shared 62 years of life together. She worked several years in the meat market and other jobs to help her husband Philip support their family. Her love of life was to enjoy her children and grandchildren in all of their activities which ranged from being a team mother, coaching her kids, helping her husband coach, and especially enjoyed being her kids and grandkids number one fan in the stands and in their lives. She spent many a night traveling to all sporting events. Survivors include her husband Phillip, her children Rosanne Gomez and husband Hector of Dalhart, TX, Robert and wife Bertha Ramirez of Amarillo, TX, Richard and wife Beth Ramirez of Augusta, GA, Ronnie and wife Leticia Ramirez of Odessa, TX, Reuben and wife Sylvia Ramirez of Amarillo, TX, Russell and wife Taryl Ramirez of Amarillo, TX. She is also survived by her sisters - Mary Louise and husband Lee Griego of Carlsbad, NM, Virginia and Julio Mireles of Hobbs, NM, Delores and Johnny Cruz of Garden City, KS and brother Pete and wife Jane Valdez of Amarillo, TX - 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive family and friends after the burial at St. Anthonys Catholic Church. The family suggest memorials be to St Anthonys Walnut Tree Tuition Assistants Fund
