Mavis Hope Roquemore, 90, died Sunday, July 19, 2009 in Chandler, TX. Funeral Services were held at 10:00 am Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Lakeview United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Phillips officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery - under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart, TX Mavis Hope Hailey was born August 26, 1918 it O.E. and Willard (McKinney) Hailey in Hartley, TX. She grew up in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1936. She married Leonard Roquemore on December 21, 1940. She worked as a hairdresser until she retired in 1996 at the age of 78. Hope was an artist and poet, she enjoyed the community concerts and other community theatre. She was a member of the Lakeview United Methodist Church. Hopes family was her treasure.Hope was preceded in death her parents, her husband, and her three brothers: Elroy, David, and Gary.She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands Karen and Jack Bradley of Dalhart, TX and Susan and David Lawyer of Chandler, TX and her son and his wife Michael and Teri Roquemore of San Angelo, TX 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
