With burial Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home.Father Ron Matthews, Pastor of the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, at Prayer Town, Texas will officiate.Survivors include 2 sons Henry Velasquez of Dalhart, TX & Gene Velasquez of Amarillo, TX a very close friend, Thesia Mayo of Dalhart, TX, a sister Lucy Silva of Denver, CO. and a brother John Velasquez of Florida2 grandchildrenWhitney & QuentinPrededed in death by his wife Lucinda who died in 1979 Hinio was born January 11, 1911 in Roy, NM to Marcellino & Sinforsia (Gonzales) Velasquez. Hinio was raised in Roy and graduated from Roy High School. He married Lucinda Zamora in 1940 at Roy, NM. They moved to Dalhart in the early 40s. Hinio was a custodian at both Allan Finch Jr. High and Dalhart High School One of the highlights of his life was when the 1960 Dalhart High School Annual was dedicated to him. Hinio never met a stranger and made sure they spoke to him. He was also employed by the Dallam County Courthouse. He retired in 1983. Hinio was an active member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church.
