Helen James Priestly, 86 died on Thursday, October 11, 2007 in Dalhart, TX Prayer Vigil was held on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 6:00 pm in St. Anthonys Catholic Church. Mass was held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Dalhart, TX. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX.Officiating was Father Scott L. Raef, Minister St. Anthonys Catholic Church Dalhart, TXHelen James was born December 21, 1920 in Dalhart, Texas to Andy and Loretta (Stack) James. Graduated for Dalhart High School and attended College and Business School in Dallas. While in Dallas she met Pete Priestly and on February 1, 1941 they were married here in Dalhart, Texas. They lived in Dallas before WWII. They moved to Dalhart when Pete joined the armed forces and served as a Glider Pilot. Prior to her children being born she worked for Fulton Thomas Insurance and a few attorneys. She was an active member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church and its organizations as well as civic and community organizations. Survivors include her Son Peter and his wife Desiree Priestly Daughter Laine and her husband Ken Gabehart - Sister Mary Pat Bowers of Dalhart, Texas and Noreen Witten and her husband Gene of Bella Vista, Arkansas and brother Monsignor Joe James of Slaton, Texas - 5 grandchildren Corlee, Reid and Sibbie Priestly and Christopher and Jon Gabehart Preceded in death by her husband F.C.
