Heath James Grimes 32, died Saturday, January 5, 2008 in Gruver, Texas.Services were held on Tuesday, at 12:00 noon at the New Life Fellowship Church with Darren Elliott, pastor of the New Life Fellowship burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, Texas. Heath James Grimes was born December 9, 1975 in Dumas, TX to Johnny and Emily (Smith) Grimes. Heath was the youngest of Seven Children. His early years were spent in Dalhart and later he moved to Houston, returning to the Texas Panhandle in the mid 90s. Heaths love for the Lord showed through his personal ministry, leaving a lasting impression on friends and family alike. He had a strong desire to become a chef and his passion for cooking will be remembered by many. Heath loved spending time with his family his family was his life Knowing Heath was a blessing and he will be missed by all.Survivors include his parents Johnny and Nell Grimes of Dalhart, TX and Emily and Brent Thompson of Ellenton, FL - Brothers: Joseph Grimes of Cypress, TX Delaney and his wife Kelly Grimes of Sugar Land, TX - Daniel and his wife Lesli Grimes of Amarillo, TX - Sisters: Shelley and her husband Chris Goodson of Dalhart, TX - April and her husband Shane Goodson of Gruver, TX - Chris and her husband Ronnie Phillips of Atlanta, GA - his extended family includes Michael, Johnny, Walt, Dee Dee, and Connie Bolton and Patty Garcia as well as Michelle Helm, Amy Thompson and Jerri Lynn.And numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
