Harold C. Durbin, 76, died Monday, February 1, 2016 in Lubbock, TXMemorial services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the New Life Fellowship Church with Terry Stegall, Lead Pastor officiating. Harold C. Durbin was born January 4, 1940 in Weslaco, TX to Jerome and Loretta (Green) Durbin. Harold was a Veteran of the US army serving in Fort Hood, TX from 1956 thru 1960 as a Military Policeman. On August 8, 1960 he married Marilyn McRee from Dimmitt, TX in Denver, CO. Living in Nazareth and Dalhart Texas all his life, he was a true farmer by heart. He tilled the ground, planted seed, watered and harvested the grain for Matt Irwin; Sedan, NM, Wilbur Gibson, Ronnie Farris, Scott Ferris, Oscar Przalas and Lanny Bezner. He died loving the soil and seeing green grass. Survivors include his wife Marilyn Durbin of Dalhart, TX Daughters: Chellie and her husband Terry Newman of Dalhart, TX, Laura Johnson of Linden, TX, Cheryl and her husband James Reese of Dalhart, TX, Shana and her husband Timothy Arthur of Conroe, TX, and Kelli and her husband James Guthrie of Fairplay, CO. Grandchildren: Mica Newman, Trent Newman, Garrett Stephens, Dustin Davidson all of Dalhart, TX. LaRay Johnson, Cole Johnson of Linden, TX, Stephanie Coleman of Cuero, TX, Michael Arthur and Clay Arthur of Conroe, TX , Codi and Khale Guthrie of Fairplay, CO. 15 Great Grandsons and granddaughters and 2 great great grandsons (twins) and One Great Grandson on the way.He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers James and Patrick, a son-in-law: Ray Cole Johnson, a great grandson: Dooley Griggs and mother and father in law: M.F. (Mac) and Esther McRee.The Durbin Family wishes to thank the Dalhart Fire Department and Dalhart Police Department and EMS for their fast response and compassion and care shown to Harold and his family. The hospital staff was outstanding and the Burn Center in Lubbock was beyond our imagination of care. We wish to Honor these people for their dedication!
