Harold Sonny Davis, 78, died Monday June 22, 2009 in Amarillo, TX.Services were held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Amarillo Central Church Of Christ. Burial was at 4:00 pm in Memorial Park Cemetery Dalhart, TX - under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart, TX.Officiants were Dan Bouchelle - Senior Minister and Bob Crass Senior Adult Minister Central Avenue Church of Christ. Amarillo, TXFreddie Harold Davis was born November 12, 1930 in Hooker, Oklahoma to Paul E. and Faye Belle (Herald) Davis. He and his family moved to Dalhart in 1946. Harold graduated from Dalhart High School in 1948. On March 18, 1949 he married Lucy Jarrett. Mr. Davis was an air traffic controller and after their kids were raised they lived in a number of cities before he retired and they moved to Amarillo, TX. Sonny loved to be with family, travel and square dance. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ.Harold is survived by his wife Lucy of Amarillo, TX, his mother Faye Belle Smith of Shattuck, OK. Three children Debbie Adams and her husband Gary of Lubbock, TX Danny Davis and his wife Laurie of Dickens, TX and Sally Wilson and her husband Randy of Amarillo, TX. 5 Grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. 2 sisters: Marie Casey and her husband Gerald of Shattuck, OK., Bonnie Farrar and her husband Johnny of Saginaw, TX and 1 brother: Darrell Davis and his wife Carole of Lubbock, TX.Preceded in death by his father P.E. Davis.
