Harold Milton Brown Age: 91 Died: Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, in Amarillo, TXGraveside Services: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in Memorial Park Cemetery with Jerry Davey of Amarillo officiating. Services are under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart, Texas.Harold Brown was born Oct. 31, 1921, in Dalhart to Clarence and Clemmie Lard Brown. He married Zo Ella Spivey in August 1949 in Dalhart.Harold graduated from Dalhart High School in 1940 and served as captain of the Wolves for three years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946 in Europe. He served with the 10th Armored Division-the famed Tiger Division a unit in the command of Lt. Gen. George Patton. The 10th Armored Tigers played key role in several of WWIIs greatest battles, including the Battle of the Bulge and Combat Command Bs gallant defense of Bastogne. During his service to the Army, Mr. Brown attained the rank of corporal.Mr. Brown joined the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation in Dalhart in July of 1940 and served as an engineering technician. He contributed to the planning, design and construction of highways and highway structures in Dallam, Sherman, Hartley and Moore counties. He retired after 43 years of service in 1983.Harold enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. His family regarded him as a brave war hero, an intelligent engineer and a loving patriarch. Survivors include a daughter, Whitney Gordon of Las Vegas, NV. 2 grand-daughters: Lacey and husband Jeremy Marshner, Sara and husband Jon Schussler and 3 great grandchildren: Addilyn Marschner, Brayden and Brody Schussler all of Las Vegas, NV.He is preceded by his wife and siblings; Word Brown, Frank Brown, Roy Brown, Ruthie White, Billie Brown and Shirley Bradley.Memorials to - CMH Hospice - 320 Texas Blvd. Dalhart, TX 79022
