Harley Starnes, 91, died on Friday, October 12, 2018 in Dumas, Texas. The family received visitors on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 2:00 4:00 pm at the Stratford Church of Christ. Funeral Services were held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Stratford Church of Christ. Burial was in Stratford Cemetery under the care of Horizon Funeral Home. Harley Buryle Starnes was born on January 19, 1927 in Odell, Texas to Homer & Bertha (Roberts) Starnes. He graduated from Brownfield High School. He served in the Korean War. On January 18, 1951, he married, Daina Ruth Mcilroy, in Brownfield, TX. Harley owned and operated Harleys Barber Shop in Stratford for 40 years. He was a member of the Rotary Club in Brownfield and was an elder at the Stratford Church of Christ for several years. Harley loved playing his guitar, mandolin & fiddle. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Harley is survived by his daughter: Patti Vincent of San Antonio; son: Danny Starnes and wife Lori of Minneola, KS; grandchildren: Amie Davis and husband Jeremy, Brandon Starnes and wife Haley, Justin Starnes and Lori Luikart all of Amarillo, Heath Starnes and wife Laura of Dodge City, KS, Clint Vincent and wife Ann of Southlake, TX and Connor Vincent & wife Paige. of Dallas, TX; his sister, Melba Fitzgerald of Plains, TX; and 8 great grandchildren & 9 step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, 3 sisters, a son in-law, a brother in-law and a sister in-law.
