Greg K. Stapleton, 71 of Dalhart, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 1:00PM on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church with Brother Tommy Morris officiating and Pastor Rick Calvert assisting. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7:00PM on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Gregory Kent Stapleton was born September 22, 1950 to Bill and Thelma Stapleton in Liberal, KS. Greg passed away on March 29, 2022. He leaves behind a daughter, Shanni Stapleton of Dalhart, TX; Sean Stapleton and wife Chasity of Seneca, South Carolina and Cody Stapleton of Dalhart, TX. Greg was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Emily, Dusty, Alex, Emma, Hailey, McKenna, and Colton; and two great grandchildren: Ashton and Faith. Greg had one brother Norvan Stapleton, and sister-in-law Dorothy Stapleton of Kansas City, MO, with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Gregs cousins are Vivian Atkinson, John Strother and Selena Underwood. Special Friends that stayed constant in his life are Terri and Roy Griggs and Tommy and Rhonda Morris and many coworkers and acquaintances. Greg is preceded in death by his grandparents JJ and Exie Miller; parents Bill and Thelma Stapleton; mother-in-law Nellie Morris; Pastor Rusty Hancock and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
