Grace Rose Ringo, 83 of Dalhart, passed away on September 2, 2023. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10:00AM on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church with Brother Ty Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. On Wednesday, Grace will lie in state from 3 until 8:00PM, with the family receiving friends beginning at 6:00, at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Grace was born on June 9, 1940 to Russell and Lou Brooks. After graduating Stratford high school, on June 19, 1958, she married her soulmate, Elvin Ringo. They were happily married for 65 years. Grace was a homemaker until her last child graduated, then she worked at Sears and retired from the City after 17 years. She spent her whole life creating unforgettable memories with Elvin and the family they were blessed with. Grace was especially fond of spending every moment she could with her grandchildren. She cherished family gatherings and enjoyed cooking big meals for everyone. As a member of Lincoln Street Baptist Church, Grace would bless people with her cooking by volunteering to make church dinners and meals for the childrens summer feeding program. She had a way of making work fun for everyone around. Grace will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by one grandson: Andrew Aragon; one daughter: Sandra Grey; one son: Wayne Ringo; and 11 siblings. Grace is survived by her husband: Elvin of the home; one daughter: Diane Thompson and husband Sam of Dalhart; daughter in law: Kyle Ringo of Dalhart; grandchildren: Jessica Aragon, Marshall Aragon, Justin Fowler, Joanna Hopson and husband Chad and Garrett Thompson; and great grandchildren: Jax McEvers, Jayci McEvers, Maiya Hatfield, Millie Aragon and Ellie Aragon.
