Gladys Ledbetter Dye, 95, died Monday, July 25, 2016 in Dalhart, Texas. The Family received visitors at the Horizon Funeral Home on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Graveside Services were held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, TX. Arrangements by Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX. Gladys was born on April 3, 1921 in Dalhart, Texas to Thomas O. & Mary Ethyl (Vaught) Monroe. She was one of eight children. Gladyss Dad worked for the Rock Island Railroad until he retired. Gladys married Arthur Ray Ledbetter from Clarendon, TX in 1940. Together they raised 4 boys until he passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 1959. She continued to work for the 1st Baptist Church and raise the boys until she remarried to Leo Horn and later she married J.C. Dye who passed away on September 20, 2006. In her later years She lived at Legacy Assisted Living and more recently she moved to Coon Memorial Home. Gladys was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. We know she is in heaven with a multitude of family and friends that have preceded her. She is survived by her sons: Ronald (Nancy) Ledbetter of Houston, TX, Thomas (Diane) Ledbetter of Carlsbad, CA and Arthur Ledbetter of CA and a daughter in law- Kelly Ledbetter Park of Yukon, OK. As well as 9 Grandchildren: Tracy & Kenny Waters of Houston, TX, Tim & Melissa Ledbetter of Houston, TX, Breanna Rusk of Austrailia, Tyler & Sophia Ledbetter of Carlsbad, CA, Jarrett & Stephanie Ledbetter of Dalhart, TX, Shawnna Hilling of El Reno, OK, Austin Ledbetter of CA and Alana Ledbetter (Braden Clements) of CA. Also 12 Great Grandchildren: Paige & Peyton Waters of Houston, TX, Connor, Carson & Riley Ledbetter of Houston, TX, Gage, Kaylee, Hali & Anzley Ledbetter of Dalhart, TX, Daniel Hilling of Missouri, Addie Wolfe of Ill and Hunter Clements of CA. Gladys is preceded in death by 2 husbands, her parents, her son Gerald Ledbetter and a daughter in law, Jeanie Ledbetter.
