Gilberto Morin, Sr., 78 of Dalhart, passed away on January 6, 2023. A Graveside is scheduled for 10:00AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in Texline Cemetery with Pastor Mark Gallegos, New Life Church, officiating. Mr. Morin will lay in state from noon until 8:00PM on Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Gilberto was born on January 11, 1944 to Jose and Gregoria (Bill) Morin in Brackettville, TX. Gilberto honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. For many years until his retirement, he was an Inspector for the USDA. Gilberto married Kathy Busby on July 27, 1987 in Clayton, NM. He enjoyed fishing, camping and cherished spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jose and Gregoria Morin; one brother: Jose Morin, Jr.; 3 sisters: Guadalupe Garcia, Jesusita Facio, and Anjelina Michalski; and one son: Justin Morin. Gilberto is survived by his wife Kathy of the home; 3 children: Gilberto (Tinker) Morin, Jr. of Amarillo, DVonne Morin of Dalhart, and Felicia Tiggs and husband Gregory of Dalhart; grandchildren: Tyler Morin, Avery Morin, Haylie Tiggs and Xavien Tiggs; great-grandchildren: Jayden Morin, Ashtynne Morin, Vincent Morin, Sloan Morin, Rayleigh Morin, Carter Swaffer, Madelyn Forsythe, and Lydia Forsythe.
