Georgia Emily Colebank Lee Hogue, 95, fondly know by many as GiGi, was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 29, 2016 in Maumelle, AR. Graveside services were held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas.Memorial service were held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Central United Methodist Church. Officiating Rev. Steve Patterson, Pastor of Central United Methodist Church, Dalhart, Texas. Arrangements provided by Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, Texas.Georgia Emily Colebank was born on April 10, 1921 in McLean, Texas to George & Clara (Carpenter) Colebank, a Texas Panhandle pioneer family. Georgia graduated from McLean High School. In 1944 Georgia married her high school sweetheart, C. B. Lee, Jr. The Lees lived in Dallas for 15 years until Carls death on November 11, 1964. Georgia had been a legal secretary for oil companies off and on for about 12 years; however, in order to be home with her daughter, she decide to move to Canyon, Texas to go to college. Georgia began her freshman year in 1965. Georgia completed a 4-year course at West Texas State University in 2 years, graduating in the spring of 1968 with honors Business and later received a Masters Degree in 1974. Georgia taught school in Canyon school system for 10 years. After a 11- month courtship, Georgia married Kenneth Hogue on June 12, 1976 in the First Baptist Church in Canyon, Texas. Kenneth was a longtime owner and publisher of the Dalhart Texan. The Hogues loved to travel together, help with Meals on Wheels and just to laugh and be together. Georgia and Kenneth were happily married until his death on June 20, 1999. Georgia moved to Maumelle, AR in 2006 due to her health and to be near family. Georgia loved Arkansas and the beauty of all its seasons. Georgia had a long, wonderful life, loved by her family and friends. Georgia loved life, always had an uplifting spirit and always had a smile on her face. Georgia loved the Lord and was a Sunday school teacher for many years while living in McLean and Dallas, Texas. Georgia enjoyed being with her family, was so proud of her grandkids and great-grandkids, working in her flowerbeds and having fresh flowers in her house, playing bridge, oil painting and watercolor, reading her bible, watching football (especially the Cowboys) and had become a loyal Arkansas Razorback fan, and loved her chocolate. She was a gentle, loving, wise, loyal, inquisitive, mischievous, a quick wit, a great role model and an inspiration and spiritual leader to her family. Georgia is survived by 1 daughter, Carla Howard & her husband, J.D. Howard of Maumelle, AR, 3 stepchildren: Susan Clay Allen & her husband, Mitch of Amarillo, TX, Terri Newman & her husband, Dr. Don Newman of Hobbs, NM., and Joel Hogue & his wife, Madonna of Amarillo, TX., 7 grandchildren: Aryn Heiskell & husband, Barry of Dalhart, TX., Brock Foster & his wife, Brittney of Conway, AR., Scott Newman & his wife, Darwissa of Savannah, GA., Jil Hensley & her husband, Neilan of New Boston, TX., and Mark Farr of Brooklyn, NY., Dr. Ryan Hogue & wife, Ashley of Louisville, KY., Brigid Small & husband, Chris of Princeton, NJ., also, 2 Step Grandchildren, Megan Anderson & her husband, Chris of Bushland, TX., and Jordan Howard & his wife, Chrissy of Dalhart, TX. As well as 13 great-grandchildren, several nephews, nieces and a host of friends. Our GiGi will be missed terribly but we are grateful for her long and happy life. Georgia is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Vide Mae Cooper, two husbands and a granddaughter, Kristi Newman. Memorials may be made to Dalhart Meals on Wheels, Boys Ranch, American Heart Association or to your favorite charity. The family will be at the home of Aryn and Barry Heiskell.Also, we would like to say a special thank you to Stonehaven Assisted Living in Maumelle, Lou Thomas and all of Georgia's Caretakers. You treated her like family and we feel so blessed that you took such wonderful care of her. Thank you so much for all you did for our Sweet Gigi.
