Gaylord Cook, 78, died Monday, July 2, 2012 in Dalhart, Texas.Funeral services were held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Dalhart Church of Christ.Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 14200 Interstate 27, Amarillo, TX 79119 at 3:00 PM - Under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TXOfficiants were Jim York, Interim Minister Dalhart Church of Christ, Dalhart, TX and Glen Walton, Associate Minister Bell Ave. Church of Christ, Amarillo, TX.Gaylord Cook was born April 13, 1934 in Cunningham, TX to William and Cumi (Kennedy) Cook. Gaylord graduated from West Texas State in 1954 and on April 20, 1955 he married Rachel Maynard in Canyon, TX. While in the US Army he preached in Heidelberg, Germany. After his returning to the US he preached for 50 years in churches including Woodward, OK, Groom, Panhandle, Kilgore, Wellington, Stamford, Spearman, Dalhart, Seagraves, and Gruver, TX. Survivors include his wife Rachel of Dalhart, TX, his daughters Gay Lynn and husband Darrell Bonjour of Amarillo, TX, and Kim and her husband Tim Jones of Dalhart, TX, grandsons Josh and Libby Bonjour of Fort Worth, TX, Joseph Bonjour of Lubbock, TX, Quentin Bonjour of Amarillo, TX, Carson Jones and fianc Alyssa Johnson of Houston, TX, and Greyson Jones of Dalhart, TX. A sister-in-Law; Ruby Cook of Crosbyton, TX , 1 great grandson Noah Bonjour, Fort Worth, TX. 3 nieces Pat Caddell, Peggy Brewing and Pam Cook and 2 cousins. Preceded in death by parents and 1 brother Hoyt Cook.
