G. M. Atkinson, 64 died on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in Dalhart, Texas Services were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 17, 2007 at First Baptist Church Chapel. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX. Survivors include his wife: Vivian Atkinson of Dalhart, TX,, Son: Bryan and his wife Melissa Atkinson of Austin, TX, Cousin: Betty Ruth Jones, of Edmond, OKGene Malcolm Atkinson was born August 3, 1943 in Amarillo, TX to Eugene and Lilly(Crawford) Atkinson. He attended school in Channing before moving with his family to Dalhart in 1951. He graduated from Dalhart High School in 1961. After graduation, G. M. Attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruses, New Mexico. In 1963 he returned to the ranch and he and his father ran Atkinson Cattle Co. G. M. was a member of Texas Cattle Raisers Association.
