Frances Hanna, 76 of Lewisville, TX died Saturday, June 8, 2013 in Denton, TX. Services were held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 12 @ Liberty Baptist Church in Dalhart, TX with Rusty Hancock pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Dalhart Memorial Cemetery. Frances Moomaw was born June 15, 1936 in Dalhart, TX to Robert and Vivian Dappert Moomaw. Frances married David Hanna April 2, 1953 in Clayton, NM. She attended and graduated from Dalhart High School. She worked for Montgomery Wards in Dalhart. Later she went to work with her dad at Dalhart Transfer and Moomaw Furniture Exchange. After Robert passed away, Frances and David opened Hannas Furniture and Appliance. She loved to buy and sell furniture and to visit with the customers. It was her work, her hobby and her passion. Frances and David retired and moved to Lewisville in 2006.She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Vivian Moomaw; one sister, Faye Smalley; and two brothers, Gene Moomaw and Leroy Moomaw -- all from Dalhart, TX.Survivors include her husband David Hanna of Lewisville, TX. One son, David Hanna and his wife Kyle from Cary, IL.; one daughter, Terri Cartwright and her husband Brian Cartwright from Highland Village, TX.; two granddaughters, Madison Cartwright from Highland Village, TX and Jamie Hanna, from Cary, IL.; one sister, Diana MacKenzie from Morris, Manitoba, Canada and one sister-in-law Ella Mae Moomaw from Dalhart; numerous nieces and nephews including Bryan Smalley whom she was very close to. The family would like to thank her friends for making her life a better place and for keeping her informed of the latest news from Dalhart. We would also like to thank Home Helpers and the nurses from Rambling Oaks for taking such good care of her over the last year. In lieu of flowers the family would like to suggest memorials to Lincoln Street Baptist Church Summer Meal Program (1019 Lincoln St.) or The Twilight Fund (P.O. Box 471) both in Dalhart, TX 79022.
