Florence Nightingale Koehn, 76, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004 in Dalhart, TXServices were held at 10:30 am CDT Friday, November 26, 2004 at the Texline Mennonite Church. The Officiants were Minister Stan Unruh, & Minister Gary Schmidt, of the Texline Mennonite Church.Burial was in the Texline Mennonite Cemetery, with Minister John Nightingale of the Countryside Mennonite Church officiating, Florence Nightingale was born on May 23, 1928 in Chickasha, OK. to Willie A. and Mandina (Smith) Nightingale, raised in Chickasha she married Louie Koehn on August 22, 1948. They made their home in Burns, Kansas until moving to the Texline area in the spring of 1976. Mrs. Koehn was a faithful Christian and a member of the Texline Mennonite Church, and is remembered for her love of life and her love for song, flowers, family and community. Survivors include, 2 sons: DeVon and his wife Becky Koehn of Surprise, AZ and Warren Koehn of Indianapolis, Ind. 2 Daughters: Shirley & her husband Delbert Becker of Texline, TX and Gayla and her husband Lynn Koehn of Hartley, TX 2 brothers: Lavern Nightingale of Chickasha, OK and Floyd and his wife Betty Nightingale of Huron, SD 1 sister: Thelma and her husband Harold Johnson of Galva, KS a brother-in-law: Elmer Koehn of Moundridge, KS 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren Florence was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 sisters and 2 grandchildrenMemorials may be made to the Texline Mennonite Church Cemetery -
