Fern Field, 70, of Guymon, passed away Wednesday morning, May 4th, 2011 at her home. The daughter of LaForest Martin and Vera Burnett (Reid) Whittier, she was born on November 3, 1940 in Dalhart, Texas. Fern was united in marriage to Tim Field, Jr. on March 3, 1958 in Clayton, New Mexico. They moved to Guymon from Dumas, Texas in 1990. Fern worked for Wal-Mart for twenty years retiring in 2003 as Personnel Manager. She was also a homemaker and attended the Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Tim Field, Jr. of the home; three sons: Wendell Field of Plainview, Texas, Jeff Field of Wellington, Texas and Lee Field of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren: Wendy, Colby, Forest, Grant and Karver, and two great grandchildren. Survivors also include two sisters: Janice Field and husband David Mack of Dalhart, Texas, and Terri Secor and husband, Joe of Phoenix, Arizona, and two brothers: Larry Whittier and wife, Mary of Saugus, Massachusetts, and Marvin Whittier and wife, Susan of Phoenix, Arizona. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon, May 6th at 2:00 p.m. at the Tabernacle Baptist Church. Memorials - Tabernacle Baptist Church Youth.
