Faye A. Pirkle, 95, died on Saturday, February 6, 2010 in Dalhart, TXA Graveside Committal Service was held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Memorial Park Cemetery Memorial Services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Dalhart Church of Christ.Jeff Ratliff, minister Dalhart Church of Christ officiated.Faye Ann Love was born July 1, 1914 in Middlewater, Texas, the 6th of 10 children born to Alanzo and Margaret (Scott) Love. She was raised at the family homestead and attended school in Middlewater and Dalhart. She was a lifetime resident of Dallam /Hartley Counties. Faye was a member of the Church of Christ. Faye Ann Love married Bert Pirkle on August 11, 1934. Bert died in 1977. Faye was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, a member of the Birthday Club and she also helped with PTA, Heart Association, Boy Scouts, Brownies, and the Rock Island RR Auxiliary. Faye loved art and began painting in grammar school. In the mid seventies she began attending art work shops, and joined the Dalhart Fine Arts Association. In 2004 she was recognized by the association as one of the artists of the month. Survivors include 1 son: Don R. Pirkle and his wife Beverly Peck Pirkle of Lubbock, TX and 1 daughter Sue Pirkle Gillham and her husband Earl Gillham of Lubbock , TX - 1 sister Margaret Love Gibbs of Amarillo, TX - 4 Grandchildren Nick Pirkle of Louisville, TX, Leslie Pirkle Douglas of Austin, TX Greg Gillham of Edmond, OK, and Jill Gillham Watts of Ft. Worth, TX, and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and 6 sisters Violet, Carrie, Dorothy, Irene, Helen, and Lonnie Lee and 2 brothers Carl and Glenn. www.horizonfuneral.com
