IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Faye Irene
Gill
May 26, 1941 – July 10, 2024
Faye Irene Gill, a beacon of kindness and selflessness, left this world on July 10, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on May 26, 1941, in Follett, Texas, Faye spent a lifetime cultivating love and joy among those she knew. Her final days were spent in Dalhart, Texas, where she continued to touch the lives of those around her until her peaceful passing.
Faye's life was marked by her enduring devotion to her family and her passion for her work. For 65 years, she served as a waitress, a role through which she found immense joy in waiting on people and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all who came through the doors of the establishments she graced with her presence. She was not just a waitress but an integral part of the community, remembered by many for her warm smile and caring nature.
Her personal life was filled with the same love and dedication she showed to her patrons. The loving daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha Schibbelhute, Faye was also a cherished sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Though she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Gill, and her dear son, Michael Gill, her legacy continues through her surviving family. Her son Rodney Gill and his girlfriend, Loretta Holland, of Dalhart, carry her spirit forward, as does her granddaughter, Jessica Trefethen, and her husband, Josh, of Columbus, Georgia.
I would like to give special thanks to such a caring person, Nelda Hardwick for her kindness in taking care of Mom. You have been a blessing to our family.
The joy of Faye's life was amplified by the laughter and playfulness of her four great-grandchildren: Nixon, Hayes, Lydia, and Korah Faye. Each of them inherited a piece of her generous heart. Her sister, Ida Worley of Little Rock, Arkansas, will hold dear the memories of the sisterly love and companionship they shared throughout the years.
Faye's interests extended beyond her professional life into the tranquility of nature. She was an avid fisherwoman, finding peace and solitude at the water's edge. This pastime was one of the many ways she connected with the world around her, demonstrating her deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
Those who knew Faye would describe her in three words: loving, kind, and selfless. She navigated her journey through life with a grace that inspired those around her, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her impact on the world was as gentle as it was profound, leaving a legacy of compassion and service that will continue to influence generations.
Faye's life was a testament to the beauty of giving, a lesson she imparted through her everyday actions and the love she so freely gave. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we bid farewell to Faye Irene Gill, we celebrate the extraordinary life she led and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Her spirit, characterized by boundless love and selflessness, will remain an enduring presence among us.
