Eva Rojas, 93 of Dalhart, passed away on November 18, 2022. A Funeral Services is scheduled for 2:00pm on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church with Ty Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Rojas will lay in state from noon until 4:00pm on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Eva R. Rojas was born on October 18, 1929 to Hipolito and Matilda Rivera in Patricia TX. She was given into marriage to Marcelino Rojas on March 12, 1943 in Lamesa, TX. Together they had 7 children and enjoyed 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Their journey took them from southern Texas to Chamberlain where Marcelino took a job with the railroad. They eventually made their way to Dalhart where they became members at First Baptist Church. It was during this time Eva accepted God into her life and was baptized. Marcelino and Eva became founding members of La Primera Mision Bautista Church where Eva served in the nursery for many years. In the late 80s, the Rojas family became members at Lincoln Street Baptist Church where their family currently serves. Eva worked at Holiday and Sands Restaurant as a dishwasher and did housekeeping at Western Skies Hotel. Eva and Marcelino opened Snowball Villa and Casa de Tacos with help of their family to run it. Eva the spent most of her life as a housewife looking over her grandchildren. She enjoyed her time in the garden, sewing and embroidery, cooking, coloring, puzzles, and most of all spending time with her family. Eva si survived by her daughter: Virginia and husband Richard Wheeler of Dalhart; son: Mingo Rojas of Dalhart; sisters: Gloria of California and Corina of Kansas; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband: Marcelino Rojas; sons: Pablo, Mike and Tony Rojas; daughters: Francis Fuentes and Melissa Gonzalez, brothers: Rudy, Adam, Eloy, Sonny and Elojio Rivera and grandson: DJ Rojas.
