Eva Elizabeth Davis, 102 of Dalhart, went to be with her Lord and Savior March 9, 2022. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 1:00PM on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Kurtis Abla officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Davis will lay in state from noon until 5:00PM on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Eve was born December 27, 1919 in Hominy Oklahoma to Charley and Myrtle (Watson) Hays. On August 4, 1940 she married Norval Davis in the First Baptist Church of Dalhart. They made their first home10 Miles South of Conlen Texas in a 2 room house. Later they moved to the farm 21/2 miles west of Conlen where they lived for 35 years. In 1977 they built a house in Dalhart and lived with Norval until his death in 1999, she continued to live there until 2018. She Moved to Legacy Assisted Living Home and then to Coon Memorial Home. Norval and Eva spent many years together on the farm. Eva would help Norval move cattle from one pasture to another or help him move equipment from one field to another. She also worked for Ed Crabtree at the various elevators he had working in the scale house. In 1981 they sold the farm to their Nephew Hoyt Davis. They enjoyed retirement together traveling and seeing family. She was a member of the Red Hat Club, Dalhart Home Extension and Volunteered at the Nursing Home helping Patients with what needs she could help with. Eva was a member of The First Baptist Church of Dalhart and attended regularly until she could no longer drive. Eva Is survived by her Niece Sue (Spud) Davis, Great Nephew Bernard Davis and a host of many more Nieces , Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews and great, great Nieces and Nephews Eva was preceded in death by her Husband Norval, Parents Charley and Myrtle Brothers Roy, Lee, Mello, and Charles.
