Ethel Clevenger, 89, died Monday, November 16, 2015 in Dalhart, TX.Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the First Baptist Church with Sean Vickers, Pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery Dalhart, TX Rose Ethel Crabtree Clevenger was born in Dumas, Texas July 13, 1926, the third daughter of Virgil R. and Georgia Morgan Crabtree. Her family moved to Dalhart after her high school graduation where she went to work at the Army Air Base in the secretarial pool. She lived in California 20 years before returning again to Dalhart to spend her remaining years.Ethel was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Dorcas Sunday School Class, Coon Memorial Auxiliary, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed knitting and crochet and loved to share her gifts with others. She was an avid reader until the loss of her vision.Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Wilmer W. Clevenger, her parents, daughter Garie Haller, son Anthony Hey, grandson Rivers Hariston and her sisters, Ruth Selby, Ellen Meyer, and Jackie Watts. She is survived by her son Roger Hey of Dalhart and step-sons Terry Haller of Southampton, NJ and Charles Clevenger. She is also survived by her daughter Linda Haller Welch of Carrollton, MS, nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Memorial may be made to Frist Baptist Church, Coon Memorial Auxiliary c/o: Wilma Rose, 322 Conlen St. Dalhart or to charity of choice.
