Collins, CO He is preceded in death by his parents Karl and Doris SchakelEric Paul Schakel was born August 19, 1961 in Palm Beach, Florida to Karl K. and Doris W. (Gilbert) Schakel. Eric grew up in Wyoming and Colorado and moved to Dalhart in 1978. He graduated from Dalhart High School in 1979 and then attended WTSU, where he received his degree in Agri-Business. Eric was involved in many aspects of Agri-Business on an international level. He married Margaret Ann White on October 11, 1984 in Paraguay, they moved to Dalhart in 1998.
